About Me - Alessio Barnini
Twenty years of software development — from developer to Team Leader and CTO — building distributed systems, automation, and integration across heterogeneous environments.
My professional life shifted gears when I encountered the Bitcoin protocol. I spent countless nights disassembling and studying the Bitcoin Core code, captivated not by speculation, but by the profound technical elegance of decentralized networks.
This reverse-engineering journey led me to author books and video courses that have reached thousands of students.
The Pivot to Defense#
In 2026, I decided to bring this technical depth into defensive cybersecurity, with the goal of becoming a Security Engineer / Blue Team specialist — SOC Analyst today, Incident Responder and Threat Hunter tomorrow.
Current path:
- CompTIA Security+ (July 2026)
- HTB Certified Defensive Security Analyst — exam scheduled for October 2026 (SIEM, digital forensics, malware analysis, incident reporting)
- Microsoft SC-200 (Sentinel/Defender XDR) planned for late 2026
The advantage I bring from 20 years of development: reading code, understanding a system from the inside, tracing back to the root cause, and not stopping at the symptom — exactly what is needed in a forensic investigation or malware analysis.
